There’s a crisis in Philadelphia. Over a million Pennsylvanians are unemployed because of Covid-19. The impact on Philly, the poorest large city in America, is almost unimaginable. The need for food is enormous.

But food insecurity is nothing new in Philadelphia. The death of George Floyd at the hands of a brutal police system and the protests that have followed, lay bare the vast inequities that exist in America. Access to healthy food tops the list of those inequities. One of our co-founders, Chef Kurt Evans fights for food justice every day. Learn more about Chef Kurt’s work.

#CookthatJawn is committed to being part of the fight for food justice. Black lives matter.
